How substitute betting works
PowerSub market examples
Anytime goalscorer
You back a forward to score. If he is substituted before scoring and the direct replacement scores later, a qualifying PowerSub/Super Sub-style market can still settle as a winner.
Assist or goal plus assist
Some operators include assist or score-or-assist markets. Data provider rules matter here, so check whether assists are settled by Opta or another official feed.
Shots and shots on target
Shot markets are often where substitution protection has practical value. If the starter leaves early, the replacement may continue the same shot-count route.
Cards and fouls
Several Super Sub-style terms include bookings, fouls committed or fouls won. The exact list differs by operator, competition and market icon.
What Paddy Power Super Sub means
Paddy Power Super Sub is a player-substitution feature on selected football player markets. A qualifying selection can continue with the direct replacement when your chosen player is substituted.
The feature applies only where Paddy Power shows Super Sub on the selected market or betslip and the terms confirm eligibility.
UK comparison: Paddy Power, William Hill and Betfred
Paddy Power is a strong Super Sub search brand, but UK users should still compare William Hill Impact Sub and Betfred Sub Switch before choosing a site.
The best option is the one available to you with the clearest market label, suitable odds, responsible-gambling tools and terms you understand.
What to check on player markets
Check goalscorer, shots, assists and cards markets first. These are the player outcomes most affected by early substitutions.
Confirm whether the feature applies to singles, multiples, bet builders, in-play bets, boosts and extra time.
