What is PowerSub betting?
PowerSub betting is a football player-market feature where a qualifying bet can transfer from your selected player to the direct substitute if the original player is replaced. Unibet calls its version Power Sub, while other operators use names such as Super Sub, Sure Sub, Safe Sub, Impact Sub, STAR SUB or Sub On Play On.
The value is simple: substitution risk is one of the biggest problems in goalscorer, assist, shots and card markets. A player can be tactically replaced before the event you need happens. PowerSub-style rules can keep the selection alive, but only when the market is explicitly marked as eligible.
PowerSub is not a guaranteed win
The feature does not refund a losing read, improve the odds or make a bet safe. It only changes how eligible player substitutions are handled. If neither the original player nor the direct replacement hits the selected outcome, the bet still loses.
Terms differ by bookmaker. Some include singles, multiples and bet builders; some restrict the feature to selected leagues, normal time only, or markets with a visible icon.
How goalscorer replacement betting works
Example: you back Player A anytime goalscorer. Player A is substituted for Player B after 60 minutes. If the market is PowerSub/Super Sub eligible and Player B scores in normal time, the qualifying selection can settle as a winner.
The same logic can apply to multiple replacements at some operators. If Player B is also substituted, the bet may pass to the next direct replacement, depending on the terms and official data feed.
