Premier League 2026/27 · Starts 21 August 2026
Ten opening-weekend fixtures. Peak demand for goalscorer, shots on target, cards and assists markets. Here are all UK bookmakers with Super Sub, Impact Sub, Sub Switch or equivalent — so your player bet survives a half-time substitution and stays live through the replacement.
⚽ Premier League 2026/27 kicks off tomorrow — Arsenal vs Coventry, 21:00 UK · 9 more fixtures this weekend
Match week one is the most unpredictable weekend of the Premier League season. Fitness doubts are at their highest — squads have had only a few weeks of pre-season games before competitive football begins. The players you back on Saturday could be tactical substitutions by the 60th minute.
William Saliba and Jurrien Timber are doubts for Arsenal vs Coventry. Tottenham head to Brentford missing Xavi Simons, Wilson Odobert, Dejan Kulusevski, with Maddison, Udogie and Van de Ven also listed as doubts. Liverpool's new-look defence under first-time Premier League manager Andoni Iraola plays at St James' Park without Mohamed Salah, Konaté and Robertson. These are not fringe players — these are starting XI absences that ripple into every player market.
A Super Sub feature — whatever the bookmaker calls it — means you stay in the match. Back Viktor Gyökeres to score on his Premier League debut; if he's rested at 65 minutes, the bet continues on the replacement. Back Alexander Isak to score at St James' Park; if Liverpool protect him and bring him off, you're still live with the next striker up.
The key rule: the feature only works when the betslip clearly shows the label — Impact Sub, Super Sub, Sub Switch, Sub On Carry On or equivalent. Not every player market carries it. Confirm before placing.

Yes, where the specific market is labelled. The Premier League 2026/27 season starts 21 August 2026 — check each bookmaker's betslip for the Arsenal, Man City, Newcastle and Fulham fixtures. Confirm lineups before kick-off (typically 75 minutes before) to avoid placing on a non-starter.
Anytime goalscorer, first goalscorer, shots on target, assists, yellow card and booking markets are the most common player markets where substitute protection applies in the Premier League. Eligible markets vary by bookmaker and by fixture.
Some bookmakers extend Sub Switch, Impact Sub or Super Sub to bet builder legs on qualifying player markets — Betfred and Sky Bet both mention bet builder eligibility. Always check whether the protection applies to the specific legs in your bet builder before placing.
If your chosen player does not start the match, the bet is typically voided and your stake returned — substitute protection does not apply in this case. Check the confirmed lineup before placing, especially in the opening Premier League weekend when fitness doubts are highest.
